Meeting “the Famous Comedian”

Stacy and I went to Los Angeles in March and we had the pleasure of seeing Paul F. Tompkins perform at the famed, Largo. After the show, which was fantastic, Tompkins was standing in the back corner and was surrounded by people. I wanted to talk to him, but I was a little shy about going over there. Stacy made me and I’m glad he did. We went over and just kind of stood nearby. When he looked up a gave a tiny wave and beckoned him over. He laughed and said, “That’s a tiny wave.” I said, “It’s how I draw in the celebrities.” I told him we’d been fans since Mr. Show and that we made the trek from Florida specifically to come to Largo. He asked if we drove and I said, “Oh no, we took a plane that a pilot drove.” He was so nice and appreciative. I asked for a picture and when Stacy started to take it he asked if he wanted to be in it too, so we asked some dude to take it, twice. Then I shoved Stacy out of the way and said, “Can I have one alone? Just in case we break up.” Paul laughed again. He dug me, I could tell. We left giddy and thrilled. Quite unfortunately, in one picture I had been smiling with teeth and changed to close mouth for the last picture as it was taken which resulted in a snaggletooth.

I am not proud of this picture, but it still cracks me up.
