Yes - I loved this.
This is a fabulous video–I heard all about it on NPR a couple of weeks ago. Clearly, the director drew his inspiration from the 1 Giant Leap projects (including the films 1 Giant Leap and What About Me?), in which the directors travel the world with music tracks for the most incredible original collaborations. What About Me? is the most recent film, and it is amazing. It features artists like Michael Stipe, Zap Mama, K.D. Lang, Maxi Jazz, Michael Franti, Santana, Alanis Morrisette, and Speech alongside musicians from all over the world. It also juxtaposes them against interviews with well-known speakers and celebrities, like Kurt Vonnegut, Deepak Chopra, Tom Robbins, Eckhart Tolle, Dennis Hopper, Noam Chomsky and more.
It’s like if Koyannisqatsi made a movie of world music with the people who made What The Bleep?
I’m not sure if it’s available in the U.S. yet or not, but I hope you can find it! You guys would dig it.
